This set of books has to be read in order, first Hotel Paradise followed right away by Cold Flat Junction. The series has been compared to Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird and Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh, but I think a better model is T. R. Pearson's Off for the Sweet Hereafter. The narrator and main character is a twelve year old girl determined to solve a 40 year old mystery. Excellent books and very different from the Inspector Jury series. |   |
