Ceremony
by Nigel Barley |
Nigel Barley returns to the Cameroon. Read Innocent Anthropologist first, otherwise it won't make a lot of sense. This one is also out of print. | |

Ode to a Banker
by Lindsay Davis |
The latest Falco mystery. I liked the one before better (because it had more on the sacred poultry) but this one is fine and does advance the overall story about the relationship of Falco and his family. As of 6/2000 you can get it at www.amazon.co.uk. | ![]() |
| Spindle's End
by Robin McKinley |
Robin McKinley is one of our favorite children's authors because of her books The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword. Later books were a mixed-bag, some more for adults than children. But Spindle's End, a retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, is at least as good as her first two, if not better. This is a great book for Harry Potter fans - and it has strong female leads and strong male supporting characters. This is not about a girl waiting for Prince Charming to come along, nor does she bet her life on a kiss from Mr. Right. It is about a girl, her family and friends and their lives in a very small, very magical town. As of June 2000, the book is in hardback at your libraries and bookstores. | ![]() |
