Jean Koch's Poem

 A Pig is a Pig
(sung to the tune of Mr. Ed)

A pig is a pig of course, or course
and no one is fond of a pig, of course
unless, of course, the pig, of course
was raised by Katherine Long

Katherine has pigs (the guinea kind)
Both short haired and long haired and adults find
the children always stand in line
each year at Solsticetide

A pig you will find on her kitchen floor
Hidden behind boxes, bricks and more
They're underneath the pots and pans
And stay hidden most of the time

The pigs compete for love and food
with hedgehogs of which she now has two
They're pricky, sticky, sleepy heads
That devour grusome grubs

The kids they love to see the pigs
and squeal with delight as the hogs are fed
they like to watch the grubs get et
By the fierce long hedgehogs

Now Katherine and Tom will move away
Much to our sadness and our dismay
For how can we share our Solsticetide
Without pigs and hogs and them beside

Oh, A pig is a pig of course, of course
and no one is fond of a pig of course
unless, of course, the pig, of course
was raised by Katherine Long
