My name is Julie Nester.I am a member of the Minnesota Weavers Guild.
Paula Pfaff sold me her J-Made rug loom when she "retired" from rug
weaving. I feel so lucky to have it!

By way of introduction, I am an at-home mom with two elementary aged
children. In the last few years I have gone to weaving "full-time" (as
much time as a mother has). I make rugs from fabric strips for the art
fair/gallery market and am feeling very happy with reaction from the
public to my rugs. I only wish I could come up with an alternative name
to "rag rug" as I don't produce the same style everyone's grandmother
did! I have a previously owned, 1991 model 60" 8 harness floor loom with
the rug package.
I have been very impressed with the high tension and firm beat I can
achieve. My woodworker husband made extensions of the treadles so it is
easy for me to depress them and lock them down while I weave standing
up.
This is really best for my hips and back. I may be interested in the
future in adding four more harnesses as it looks like there is room in
the castle for four more, and in the distant future, possibly the
mechanical or compu-dobby. I would be very interested to know people's
experience with the J-Made dobby systems.
