This is what I love doing: I love watching the kids learn and develop their personalities... I'm now taking a break from the law to stay home with my two-year-old son, Grant, and it has been great. We live in Weston, Florida; which is in the westernmost portion of Broward County - directly west of Ft. Lauderdale and north of Miami. If anyone is in the area, please give me a call!

John Crabtree-Ireland: john@c-i.us

Living in L.A. is exciting! My lifestyle changed dramatically when I signed with my agent last July. Before, I used to work in a museum and meet with major donors to discuss funding opportunities. Now, each evening between 4 and 7pm, my agent calls with my auditions for the next day. Today was T-Mobile and tomorrow are Coca Cola, AT&T, and Wendy's (avg 5/week). Currently, I have two commercials running across the country (Northwestern Mutual & Citizens Bank). In between auditions, I consult with small non-profits on their major gift programs and do home improvement work around the house and in our yard. Boy, do I love to edit home movies on my Mac. I have fallen for their suite of software, which makes everything super easy--I am not one for reading manuals. After twelve years together, Duncan and I got married in San Francisco--we were one of the first 100 couples, which has brought some national press interviews, which, of course, I enjoyed. As you can imagine, the next few home videos will be of the excitement surrounding our Valentines Day 2004 nuptials.

John Lowery: lowery_john@yahoo.com

Hi Guys, Its so good to hear from everybody. Here's my update I got married to my girlfriend of six years June 16 2001. We bought a three bedroom house 5 minutes from where I grew up and are very happy. We would like to start a family in the near future. Work wise I've been practicing law, small town general practice since 1995. From 1997 till 2002 I had a partner who was our District Attorney, I also served as a part time DA. I bought out my partner and went out on my own in 2002. I was elected to our local school board in 2000 and served a 4 year term, 2 of which I was the president. Hopefully If all works out I will make a run for State Legislature in 2 years, But as we all know politics is all about timing. We will see.. My wife and I love to travel and honeymooned in south Africa ,and we went back for our first anniversary. We hope to go back for our 5 year. Its great and I highly recommend it. We try to go somewhere big every year we've done Spain and Portugal last year and england, Mexico, Hawaii in recent years. Well thats about it here. Again I'm so glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Best wishes. John Lowery PS. When is the next reunion ????

Karla Raettig: kraettig@law.tulane.edu

I am a clinical instructor at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, which means I sue the government and polluters while guiding law students through actual litigation.
I love my job and in addition, I love exploring New Orleans and Louisiana, working on our new house, reading, Mardi Gras, and yoga. I want to stay at this job and in New Orleans for another 3-5 years before moving to DC or LA. I'd eventually like a non-litigation environmental policy job.

Malcolm Bruni mbruni@aol.com

This is what I do daily now: During the week, I work for Coca-Cola. I do college and marketing assets (read sports teams, theme parks, etc.) exclusivity and marketing rights agreements. I enjoy the work ... and the Company is great. On the weekend, Rick (my partner for the past almost 8 years) and I are renovating our 1928 Spanish bungalow -- what a nightmare! -- never do a complete renovation and try to live in the same house.
This is what I love doing: Traveling - we love to travel. We take 1 big trip per year and a few small ones ... my favorite trip - I think Cuba ... maybe Italy. What an amazing country. This year will be Spain.
This is what I want to do in the future: I want to go on a safari ... finish this house and relax by the pool!
Other: Let's see, we live in LA. We moved here form San Francisco last July. LA is OK.... SF is awesome (we lived there for 6 years). As you can see, I miss SF - the food, friends, and a completed house. LA - no judgments until the renovation is finished. We have a 10 year old black Lab - she is great. That's about it - I am afraid we live a boring life -- but we love it!

Marty Hammonds: mhammonds2@netzero.net

I work for Reynolds & Reynolds as an Inside Sales rep., selling CRM solutions to the automotive industry.
I love riding my motorycle and going on cruises for vacation.
In the future, I'd like to own my own business where I have control. Other: When I look back over my life, I am happy to have had the experiences in Washington and the friendships. It was truly a time of learning, bonding, and growing unlike any other; and unless someone goes thru it, they will never understand the fraternity we are part of!

Mary Shaheen: kalil@theworld.com

Matthew Sydnor: matthewsydnor@aol.com

I'm now in my 3rd year in the banking business after my 9 year post college vacation as a golf pro. Still unmarried and without children although I've been dating the same girl (Kimberly) for about 8 months (nearing a record).
After inheriting season tickets to several races I've become a huge NASCAR fan in the last several years. You northern types may insert whatever redneck comments here. Williamsburg is still a great place to live and where all my friends are so I don't see moving anytime soon. When is our next reunion?

Michele (Wingo) Barrow: barrowfamily@sbcglobal.net

It's been something these last couple of days to see what everyone has been up to, keep the updates coming... What do I do now - stay home with my two daughters (Alexandra will be 8 in July and Sophia will be 4 the end of this month) so basically chef, referee, entertainer, teacher, driver, housekeeper, etc - you get the picture. I am active at their schools with PTA and helping teachers.
What do I love - what I am doing now, always wanted to be a mom.
In the future what do I want to do - open a children's museum (hands on activities, various lessons, small animals - maybe, art, literature, outdoor area, etc) Chris and I are nearing 11 years of marriage, many of you have met him (he enjoys hearing the updates as well). Within the next month he will be opening his own private practice (psychologist/counselor) and he is pursuing his PhD as well.

I'm still an avid reader of your listserv. Would appreciate if I could continue as a non-contributing "lurker." Still in DC here. Living in Glover Park with my wife and son. Sam C Washington AKA Ace: SamCW2000@aol.com

Still working in the DC area with the Cap Region Bioterrorism Preparedness Task Force. Just working and trying to find Mrs Washington. If anyone is partying in or traveling thru DC, give me a shout. Give me a couple of days heads start as I don't check my personal email as often as I should. Funny, I ran into Dr Mauer (sp?) just last Friday at lunch in Union Station.

Sarah Beth Lardie: sarah_bethlardie@hotmail.com

What I do Every Day: I raise money (and media attention) that provides training and support to social entrepreneurs - helping them turn their great ideas for non-profits into reality. There are other things too - I'm a Mentor with a youth program here in San Francisco, I've taken up surfing, I still have my consulting work doing political fundraising (and a bit of speechwriting) for candidates around the US and when I have a free evening I love to have friends over for dinner and share my passion for cooking!
This is what I love doing: Yes! It is! I am one of the founders here at Joshua Venture - and I LOVE it! I am inspired every day by the people with whom I work and the people whose projects we support.
This is what I want to do in the future: More of the same - not to mention getting married and starting a family.
