The Book of Light was commissioned
by the Boston Public Library to commemorate the millennium.
Each image projected was drawn from the BPL collection
and digitally mastered as a projection slide for the
Pani projection system. The Book of Light was projected
on to the front of the new wing of the library on either
side of the entry. The figures were approximately seven
meters on a side, literally allowing patrons to walk
through the pages of the book. Inside the lobby, projections
of fragments of poetry covered the ceilings and walls,
providing enough light to keep the normal lights in
the lobby off. |
