And I was wondering, how often do other school >papers publish? This issue will be our sixth. We published our tenth issue of the year back on May 10, and decided not to work on an eleventh (finals and AP tests and all that get in the way). We generally publish 10 or 11 issues a year (including our traditional April Fool's issue, The Indypendant). Ordinaily, there are five weeks between each issue, but this can become four or six if vacations, plays, or other circumstances make it necessary. BTW -- our first issue of the year always is published the first Wednesday of school -- that is, we layout *before* school starts. It's a marvelous arrangement -- we have all day for our first layout with the new staff and we make a solid and early first impression with the new freshman, thereby getting more potential writers :). -Josh ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Josh Edelman jedelman@students.wisc.edu The Independent Indepen@aol.com "Lord, what fools these mortals be!" -Shakespere ~~~~~~~~~~~~
