litter boxes and birds

January 30, 2003

Another morning of washing dishes and litter boxes. Another afternoon of looking for birds. Another evening with Indian food and a meeting. On the way home I listened to The Connection on WBUR talking about The Jobless Recovery. Basically, the Gross Domestic Product is growing but so is the unemployment rate. Recovery without creating jobs. And at least according to the folks who were on this show, it's going to be about 2 years before job growth increases and hell will freeze over before there are good jobs for workers over 50. So I guess I should have dashed right in when I saw the Help Wanted sign at Croteau's Bait and Tackle down the street from the cat shelter. I wonder if I'm overqualified to sell bait...
