The osprey offspring fledged, gangly killdeer chicks careen around the salt pannes while their parents drive off a semipalmated sandpiper who gets too close, short-billed dowitchers and snowy egrets are all over the place, and, drum roll please, Benson's has the fresh native red rasberry ice cream. This is high summer. With baseball on the radio and red raspberry sauce on the red raspberry ice cream it just doesn't get any better than this.
