doll + chat

  Dizzy...

a word I learned from the other cherished dolls
whose hair is thin,
whose faces have been rubbed smooth.

They don't like to be handled,
let alone thrown in the air.

If they peek out the car windows
on their way to a doll show
they feel sick afterwards,
sometimes for days.

I don't know what they mean.

I only feel right
when I'm in motion,
tossing my hair--
(yes it's thin now; who cares!)
ringing my bells,
doing what I was born to do,
made to do--

spinning in your hand.
