Sunny skies and light winds will allow temperatures to warm fairly quickly into the mid 20s across the interior to mid 30s along the coast by mid morning. High clouds will begin to move in late this afternoon in advance of our next storm system. Lows tonight will range from mainly the mid to upper teens across the normally colder outlying locations to the low to mid 20s elsewhere. Friday, low pressure will move up through New York state and across New England. It will bring plenty of moisture up with it. Warm air moving up and over the shallow cold airmass now over the area will combine with this moisture to produce precipitation across southern New England. The precipitation will begin as snow across northwestern Massachusetts and southwestern New Hampshire, freezing rain west of 495 and north of the Mass Pike, and rain elsewhere. Expect a quick transition from snow to freezing rain though as the warm air reaches farther north. The bulk of the freezing rain will remain west of 495 and north of the Mass Pike. Late in the day, precipitation will change to all rain as temperatures reach their peak. High pressure crests overhead today and moves into the Canadian Maritimes late tonight. Low pressure in the deep south today will move northeast and eventually cross New England Friday night. This will bring a mixture of precipitation to interior locations Friday, with some icing possible across the far interior. High pressure will bring dry weather for the weekend. The next low pressure system looks to affect the region early to mid next week. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
