With the clear skies and light winds, temperatures fell to more winter like readings. Lows ranged from some single digits over southwest New Hampshire to the low to mid 20s. The warmest readings were found along the east coast as well as the Cape and islands where lows were in the upper 20s to around 30°. Today will offer another day of bright sunshine as the center of high pressure crest across the northeast. It will be a bit warmer as highs reach the upper 30s to lower 40s across all of southern New England. For tonight skies will be mostly clear. It will not be quite as cold with lows in the upper teens to low 30s. Clouds will be on the increase for the start of the work week as a warm front moves towards the region. There will be a chance of showers during the afternoon. The precipitation may even start off as a briefly period of snow or sleet over northwest interior sections of the region. Highs will range from the low to mid 40s. Cloudy skies with a chance of showers will be the rule for Monday night as the warm front lifts up across southern New England.
