Then skies cleared early today. Temperatures at dawn were cooling into the 20s and lower 30s. Today will be mostly sunny but with a cold and gusty northwest wind. Highs will be mostly in the 30s. Tonight will be even colder with clear skies. Lows ranging from the teens in the interior countryside to the low and mid 20s along the coast. Wind chill will be noticeable with values dipping to between 5 and 15 above zero. Sunday recovers into the 40s with plenty of sunshine continuing and much less wind. The large and rather cold Canadian high pressure system that arrives later this weekend will depart Monday morning. Moisture returning in the southerly flow behind the high may yield light precipitation Monday afternoon over the interior of southern New England.
