Clouds will increase rapidly this morning. Rain will spread into Connecticut, Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts during early and mid afternoon with only a chance of rain late in the day along and north of the Mass Turnpike. Highs will be mostly in the 40s. Tonight, precipitation will develop throughout southern New England and it will turn to snow by morning in far northern Massachusetts and south central New Hampshire. Lows will be in the 30s, except near 30 in the snowy areas north of Route 2 tomorrow morning where it will be getting slippery. Friday promises to be snowy from the Monadnocks into far northern Massachusetts while rain becomes mixed with sleet and snow along and just south of the turnpike. Temperatures will generally hold in the 30s. Precipitation should be heaviest during the early morning and tend to let up during mid and late afternoon. Then for Friday night any leftover snow or flurries will end except possibly linger on the Cape into Saturday mid morning. Clearing will develop in the interior. Lows will be in the 20s except near 30 Cape and islands and upper teens Monadnock region. On the weather map, a cold front will cross the region late today. Ohio valley low pressure will move off the New Jersey coast Friday and out to sea at night.
