It will be a mostly dry day with fair weather clouds developing during the afternoon. Howevere, scattered flurries may produce a coating of a half inch of snow across the high terrain of Franklin county this afternoon. An arctic front near the Canadian border this evening will move south and approach southern New Hampshire late tonight. A few snow showers are possible north of the Massachusetts pike, otherwise coastal sections will see clouds increasing from the north. Light snow will fall across southern New England Thursday after the passage of the arctic front. Frigid air will then push across the region Thursday night with overnight lows from zero to 5 above in northwest Massachusetts and southwest New Hampshire, and single digits across areas away from the coast. Wind chill values will drop to zero to -10° away from the coast, with the lowest readings over the higher terrain of central and western Massachusetts into southern New Hampshire. A cold front will clear the southern New England coast this morning. High pressure will build across the region this afternoon and tonight. An arctic front will push across the region during Thursday, ushering in very cold air late Thursday and Friday. Large high pressure will cross New England Friday and Saturday. Another front will push across the region Sunday, then low pressure will develop south of New England Sunday night.
