Under clear skies predawn temperatures were generally in the 20s. Last evening, a solid band of squalls swept east across much of Massachusetts except not the south coast. Isolated squalls were scattered in southern New Hampshire and also northern parts of Connecticut into Rhode Island. The burst of snow accompanied by gusty northwest winds of 30 mph dusted some areas and limited visibility for a few minutes to less than half a mile. A clipper low passes south of New England this evening. Scattered flurries are possible later today with this system otherwise it will be a seasonably cold day with mixed clouds and sunshine. Highs today will be generally in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Tonight will become clear and colder with lows generally between 10 and 20. Colder than normal high pressure follows Thursday with sunny skies and afternoon highs only from the mid 20s to lower 30s. A modest coastal noreaster Friday into Saturday likely brings significant wintry weather. A plowable snowfall is quite possible for much of southern New England during this time.
