A very mild and a rather moist February day is on tap across the region.
Latest satellite loop indicates a plume of moisture streaming north along the
eastern seaboard, with some thunderstorms occurring along the mid Atlantic
coast. Locally heavy downpours and scattered thunderstorms should occur this
morning through mid afternoon. A wind advisory was expanded earlier this
morning along the southern rhode coast and the blue hills. The wind advisory
remains in effect until 3pm this afternoon. A cold front pushes offshore with
drier and cooler air to follow this evening. A weak secondary cold front will
move across southern New England during the day on Tuesday. Another storm
system will approach from the south during the weekend, but it is possible the
storm may just graze southern sections.
