There also may be some scattered clouds along the immediate eastern Massachusetts coast early this morning, but these should quickly break up during the morning. Otherwise, a sunny but breezy day is on tap for southern New England with 30 to 35 mph wind gusts. The strong March sunshine should allow high temperatures to top out in the mid to upper 40s across much of the region. Highs will be a few degrees cooler across the higher terrain as well as the Cape and Nantucket. Mostly clear skies tonight although there will be some high cloudiness, particularly across the interior. Nonetheless, very dry air in place and diminishing wind will allow for a good night of radiational cooling. Lows should range from the teens across the outlying locations, to the mid to upper 20s in downtown Boston and Providence. On Tuesday, mostly sunny skies with just some high cloudiness expected. The high cloudiness will become thicker across interior southern New England by late afternoon. The dry air in place along with the strong March sunshine will allow for an excellent recovery in temperatures. Highs should reach into the upper 40s to around 50 in most locations. However, sea breezes are expected to develop on the immediate coast holding high temperatures in the 40 to 45° range within a few miles of the coast. High pressure builds into the region today into Tuesday. The next weather system will develop over the upper Ohio valley on Wednesday with rain for our region, rain may be changing to snow Wednesday night across western Massachusetts and southwest Hampshire. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 06:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
