Afternoon high temperatures will range in the 30s across the region. A cold front will swing through the region this afternoon. This should create some scattered flurries. In fact, a few neighborhoods may see see a brief heavy snow squall resulting in a fresh coating of snow, especially south of the Massachusetts. Any flurries will taper off early this evening as drier air moves in from the north. However, we are going to have to watch the potential for some ocean effect snow showers across outer Cape Cod and Nantucket overnight. Otherwise, skies should become mostly clear from west to east Wednesday morning as drier air works into the region. Overnight low temperatures will span in the upper teens and lower 20s, with mid 20s expected in downtown Boston and Providence. A mostly sunny and seasonably cold day on tap for Wednesday. High temperatures will climb to the lower 30s across the higher terrain, to the mid to upper 30s on the coastal plain. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph will make it feel colder than today. A cold front will move through the region this afternoon. High pressure will follow and bring fair weather tonight through Thursday afternoon. A fast moving low pressure system may bring a wintry mix to the region Thursday night and Friday. Low pressure development may occur offshore Saturday night and Sunday bringing a chance of light snow to coastal locations. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 09:54 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
