Therefore rain is forecast over Cape Cod and the islands this morning. Otherwise expect clearing skies this afternoon with breezy conditions and seasonably cool temperatures over the remainder of the region. Mostly clear skies are expected tonight followed by some increasing clouds across northern and western sections as a cold front approaches late. Expect seasonably cold temperatures. Low pressure moving through the St Lawrence valley will swing a cold front through New England late Friday. Much colder air on will follow Friday night through Saturday night as strong high pressure builds into the region. Another significant low pressure area may bring heavy rain Sunday night and Monday which may begin as a period of snow and ice in the interior.
