It may brush southernmost portions of the area with a brief period of broken clouds but high pressure will assert itself thereafter. The high will provide a mostly sunny and pleasant day. An increase in high clouds will be observed during the afternoon as the next system moves through the Great Lakes. Afternoon temperatures should top out well into the 40s, if not around 50 at a few locations. Clouds will quickly increase this evening in advance of another weak disturbance. There could be a brief period of steady precipitation over southern New England late tonight into Wednesday in advance of this fast moving disturbance. This may result in a half inch of snow or so at a few locations north and west of i-95 early Wednesday morning. Locations south of 1-95 will be warmer, so any light snow showers should change to rain. Most if not all of whatever precipitation that may fall with this system should be over with by around noon. The weak disturbance or clipper will strengthen over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday afternoon. This will allow for cold air to overspread southern New England on gusty northwest winds. Temperatures will range from the mid 30s to lower 40s. High pressure will provide fair weather for today. A fast moving clipper may bring some light snow or rain late tonight into Wednesday. Showers are possible with an approaching cold front Thursday night and Friday. A more significant low pressure may affect southern New England later Saturday night into Sunday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 06:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
