The region saw strong gusty winds overnight with temperatures dropping into the single digits and teens by early morning. For the start of the work week today will have partly to mostly sunny skies. It will be windy in the morning with winds slowly diminishing during the afternoon. Highs will only be in the 20s with the strong winds making it feel much colder than that. For tonight skies will be mostly clear with lows ranging from near zero to upper teens. The winds will continue to slowly diminish. Tuesday will start off with sunny skies. However clouds will be on the increase during the morning as low pressure begins to move towards the region. There will be a chance of some light snow during the afternoon. There may be enough snow to make for a messy evening commute over central and western portions of the region. Highs will range from the mid 20s to mid 30s across the region. Tuesday night will see a mixture of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain from northwest to southeast. Interior sections will see mainly frozen or freezing precipitation while southeast sections will see snow changing to rain during the evening. Lows will range from the low 20s to low 30s.
