Today with a persistent mild southwesterly flow, this afternoon high
temperatures will climb to the mid to upper 40s at locations along and north
of the Massachusetts pike as well as the Connecticut valley. It will be even
milder with 50 to 55° readings for southeast Massachusetts, Rhode Island and
northeast Connecticut. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. Tonight skies
remain mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 30s north and west, to the low to
mid 40s east. Tuesday should be even warmer than today by at least a few
degrees under partly sunny skies. High pressure off the mid Atlantic coast
will remain anchored there into Wednesday, resulting in above normal
temperatures. A cold front Wednesday will be followed by a cooler high
pressure Thursday. Another low pressure is likely to provide a period of
precipitation sometime next Friday or Saturday.
