Other than a few clouds across the northwest higher terrain, we are looking at a mainly sunny day today. It will be windy, especially during the morning with gusts to 30 kts which will subside this afternoon. Temperatures will be below normal today, the lower 30s inland to near 40 near the coast. High pressure slides east into region today and then moves quickly offshore late tonight. This will set up a mild southwest flow that will result in a nice warmup on Monday with temperatures well into the 40s. In fact, it`s possible temperates may approach 50° across parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Low pressure over the Canadian Maritimes will bring gusty northwest winds to the region today. High pressure west of New England will push east late today through Monday. A cold front will approach the region Monday night, then will stall Tuesday. Strong low pressure will move across southern New England Tuesday night and early Wednesday. This low will bring periods of heavy rain. A weak high will bring drier weather Wednesday night and Thursday.
