Skies averaged out to be partly cloudy across the region early this Wednesday morning. Overnight lows were in the 20s to low 30s. Southern New England will have mostly cloudy skies today as an arctic cold front moves down across the region from the north and high pressure builds in from the west. There will also be a chance of a scattered snow shower or two. High temperatures today will range from the mid 30s to mid 20s early in the day. However temperatures will fall during the day to the low 20s. Skies will become clear tonight as high pressure continues to build across southern New England. Temperatures will fall to the low single digits to the upper teens. The exception will be lows in the 20s on the islands. Thursday will see mostly sunny to sunny skies but it will be very cold. Highs will range from the low teens over southwest New Hampshire to the low 20s over the outer Cape and the islands. Thursday night skies will be clear as high pressure settles over the region. Lows Thursday night will again be in the single digits to low teens, except near 20 on the islands. Friday will see temperatures begin to warm as high pressure moves off shore.
