There were some isolated patches of fog across southern New England. Early morning lows were generally in the teens and 20s with one or two spots having lows around 30 this morning. Low pressure centered over the western end of Lake Erie this morning will move across central New England this afternoon and early tonight. Skies will start off the day mostly sunny but clouds will rapidly move across the region during the morning as the low pressure system approaches the region. By afternoon the northwest sections of the region will have accumulating snow while the rest of southern New England sees mostly rain. For tonight, as low pressure moves across the region the precipitation will come to an end. However skies will remain cloudy. Lows tonight will generally be in the 20s region wide. Wednesday will have mostly cloudy skies as low pressure slowly moves off to the northeast and high pressure builds in from the west. High temperatures will range from the mid 30s to upper 20s early in the day. However temperatures will fall during the day to the low 20s. Skies will become clear Wednesday night as high pressure continues to build across southern New England. Temperatures will fall to the low single digits to the upper teens. The exception will be lows in the 20s on the islands. Thursday will see mostly sunny to sunny skies but it will be very cold.
