This will provide the region with dry but chilly weather. Mostly sunny skies this morning will help offset the cold temperatures, however clouds will be on the increase this afternoon. Also, brisk west winds this morning will diminish this afternoon, helping to take the edge of the chilly temperatures. By tonight, low pressure will exit the Great Lakes and track south of the New England coast. Snow, mainly light associated with this low will overspread southern New England tonight. The low will quickly exit out to sea Wednesday, bringing an end to the snow by mid to late morning. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3" are expected, with only a dusting or so north of the Massachusetts turnpike and extending north into southern New Hampshire. Snow will linger into midday Wednesday across Cape Cod and Nantucket, where higher amounts of 3 to 5" are possible. Dry weather will return to the region later Wednesday and continue into the daylight hours of Thursday. By Thursday night and Friday, a more potent low in the form of a coastal storm may impact the region. The storm has the potential to bring significant snows to at least a portion of the region. However, the exact track and intensity remain highly uncertain at this time. Stay tuned to later forecasts and statements regarding this possible winter storm. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
