Lows were generally in the 40s. A cold front was just entering southern New England at 5 am with gusty northwest winds developing behind it. Brilliant sunshine is expected most of today with northwest wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph forecast to develop this afternoon. Highs will still be about 5° above normal, generally reaching the 50s. Tonight will see a busy wind continue along the immediate coast. It will be clear. Lows generally in the 20s countryside and lower 30s urban centers and coast. Thursday will once again be sunny and blustery, as well as seasonably cool. Highs will range from the mid 40s to mid 50s. Cloudiness from a distant gale in the Maritimes may graze the Cape and islands. A strengthening cold frontal passage was occurring in southern New England early this morning. Strong Canadian high pressure will build into the mid Atlantic states Thursday and Friday. Another reinforcing surge of Canadian high pressure is anticipated Saturday.
