Snow will develop across southern New England from north to south this morning, and become heavy at times as the day progresses. Warmer air will move in aloft later today and tonight. This will change the snow over the sleet and freezing rain. Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeast Massachusetts will see the changeover by this evening. These areas will see a change to all rain overnight and Saturday morning with the potential for flooding. The changeover to sleet and freezing rain will occur this evening and overnight over the interior. A significant accumulation of sleet and snow is expected, especially over the interior. Up to a quarter inch of ice will be possible away from the coast.
