Temperatures across central and northern areas were cold enough to cause freezing rain, freezing drizzle and sleet, while southern areas saw periods of rain. Temperatures fell to the upper 20s to lower 30s over central and western Massachusetts into southern New Hampshire, ranging to the lower 40s on the immediate south coast, lower Cape Cod and the islands. A frontal boundary will remain stationary south of New England through today, with a weak wave of low pressure moving along it. This will bring another bout of mixed precipitation for the morning hours across central and northern interior areas, while rain falls further south and along the coast. By this afternoon, the precipitation is expected to taper off, but pockets of drizzle or even freezing drizzle will remain. Highs will only be in the 30s inland, ranging to the lower to mid 40s across northern Connecticut, Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. The main area of low pressure will move out of the Ohio valley late tonight, pushing another area of mixed precipitation into the region after midnight. Overnight lows will fall to the mid 20s to around 30 inland and the mid to upper 30s along the coast and across southern areas. The low will move across southern New England during the holiday on Monday, with the heaviest precipitation over the last few days. With colder air working into southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, the mixture of winter weather will change over to snow, while the mix continues for central interior areas and rain falls further south. Highs will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over southern New Hampshire and the eastern slopes of the Berkshires, ranging to the mid 40s on the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. The outlook for Tuesday calls for light snow to end during the morning, with partly cloudy and cold conditions in the afternoon. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The weather reported was fog.
