Today will be a spectacular day with abundant sunshine and temperatures generally warming to between 55 and 60°. The exception, cooler readings to occur along the south coast, outer Cape and islands and possibly Cheshire county in southwest New Hampshire. Tonights lows may be a few degrees warmer than the 20s and 30s of this morning, especially with a bit more cloud cover. Tuesday will be another fine day though cloudiness should be more dominant. Gusty southwest winds are expected in the afternoon. High temperatures again will be well up into the 50s with lower 60s not out of the question in a few locations. Again the south coast outer Cape and islands will be cooler with highs again, only reaching the upper 40s. Tuesday night will be milder than Monday night with a steady southwest wind. Lows are forecast to range from the mid 30s to mid 40s. The high pressure system that will be moving from the central Appalachians to the mid Atlantic coast today will shove offshore Tuesday. A cold front will move into southern New England Wednesday with a surface low pressure system developing along the front by Thursday. The timing of this system is still somewhat in question. The upshot is that there will be a chance of showers late Tuesday night into Wednesday, then a better chance of rain Thursday. Enough cold air may filter into southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts possibly changing rain to freezing rain, sleet or snow by Thursday evening. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
