Temperatures were in the 30s and 40s early this morning. Low pressure over southern New Jersey early this morning will track across southern New England today. Rain is expected most of the day with a chance of thunderstorms this morning in Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts. It will remain mild with highs ranging from the mid 40s in southwest New Hampshire to the mid 50s near the south coast. Strong southeast winds will affect much of the south coast as well as the blue hills near Boston this morning, where wind advisories have been posted. Another round of strong west winds will impact Cape Cod and the islands this afternoon and evening. High pressure will build into New England tonight and Tuesday, bringing partial clearing and colder air to the region, before clouds increase late in the day. Lows tonight will fall back into the 20s and 30s, and highs Tuesday will top out in the 40s. A weak cold front will quickly cross the region Tuesday night, possibly accompanied by scattered snow showers.
