The sky was clear across most of southern New England early this morning.
There were some clouds spilling east of the spine of the Berkshires, the
result of lake effect snows off lakes erie and Ontario. Temperatures at 4 am
ranged from the single digits into the teens. Wind chill values ranged from
around zero, to as low as 10 below zero. The morning weather map showed a
large high pressure along the southeast coast of the United States. Meanwhile,
a nearly stationary low pressure was across Labrador in eastern Canada. The
combination of the two will result in a persistent west to northwest flow
across our region today into Wednesday. The pattern for the rest of this week
features a dry arctic airmass lingering across southern New England.
Temperatures will remain below normal. Despite the cold, no big storms seem to
be on the horizon at this time, meaning little to no chance for any snow.
