Early morning temperatures were mainly in the 30s north of the Massachusetts turnpike, with readings in the lower 40s south of the turnpike. Skies will become mostly sunny today, although it will become windy. Northwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected. High temperatures will mainly be in the mid to upper 40s, although it will be a few degrees cooler across the higher terrain. Mostly clear skies and diminishing wind tonight will allow most locations to fall into the 20s, with lower 30s expected in downtown Boston. High pressure moving off the mid Atlantic coast on Wednesday will allow for a return to well above normal temperatures as west to southwest winds develop. Under mostly sunny skies, highs on Wednesday should top out in the low to mid 50s across most locations with readings a few degrees cooler across the high terrain. Another beautiful and unseasonably mild day is expected on Thursday. Highs will again top out mainly in the low to mid 50s under partly to mostly sunny skies. A low pressure system will bring rain to the region on Friday. However, temperatures will continue to remain quite mild for early January, with highs ranging from the mid to upper 40s across southern New Hampshire, to the mid 50s south of the Massachusetts turnpike. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
