Along with the clouds, National Weather Service Doppler radar showed a few showers breaking out across the region. 4 am temperatures were in the 50s. For today, a warm front will push northeast across the area ushering more humid air into the region. Even with variably cloudy skies, daytime highs should push into the lower 80s over many inland areas, with 70s closer to the coast, and even a few upper 60s along the immediate mid coast. Scattered showers and isolated thunder will accompany the warm front this morning. An approaching cold front will touch off a few showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The cold front will sink slowly southeast across the area tonight and Thursday. So we'll see a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms along with the warm muggy weather. The cold front is forecast to stall to our south early Friday. Low pressure will develop along this front on Friday, move slowly northeast, then linger across the Gulf of Maine into Sunday. The result will be an extended period of cool unsettled weather. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear. The prevailing visibility was 10 miles.
