The exception was the Cape and islands where northeast winds were blowing at 10 to 15 mph with some higher gusts. Early morning temperatures ranged from the mid 20s to the lower 30s over the outlined areas, to the lower 40s in downtown Boston and Providence as well as the Cape and islands. Sunny skies will make for a beautiful day across most of the region. Highs will top out in the lower 70s across southern New Hampshire, western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Meanwhile, across the immediate eastern Massachusetts coast highs will soar to around 60s by mid morning, then fall back into the lower 50s during the afternoon as sea breezes develop. Just inland from the coast, highs should top out in the 60s. Mostly clear skies are on tap for tonight, although some mid and high level cloudiness will begin to back in off the ocean toward morning. Northeast winds will also begin to increase along the coastal plain toward morning, and may be sustained between 25 and 35 mph over the Cape and islands by sunrise. Low temperatures will range from the 30s over the outlined areas, to the lower 40s in the urban centers. Monday will be a windy and cool day along the coast. Highs in this region should only top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Some light rain may back in off the ocean during the afternoon, with the best chance of this occurring on Cape Cod and Nantucket. Across the interior of southern New Hampshire, western Massachusetts and Connecticut it should turn out to be a partly sunny afternoon with highs well up into the 60s. Monday night and Tuesday look to be cool with off and on periods of rain along the coast. Across the interior, there will be a chance of a few rain showers, but the bulk of the activity should remain over the eastern sections. Lows Monday night will range from the upper 30s and lower 40s. Highs on Tuesday will range from the lower 50s along the coast, to the lower 60s across the Connecticut river valley. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 06:54 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear.
