Steady north to northeast winds kept the air stirred for most of the night, but those winds diminished late at night in many of the interior valleys. Temperatures started the morning in the 30s and lower 40s. High pressure building over New England will provide a dry mainly sunny day today. Temperatures in western areas, such as the Connecticut valley, will respond to the sunshine by climbing into the 60s. Eastern areas will have a northeast wind off the water, and this will keep temperatures in the 50s during the warm part of the day. The dry weather will continue through the weekend. Temperatures will start each day in the 20s and 30s, and climb into the 50s and 60s. Our next chance of rain may come early next week. An ocean storm strengthening off the Carolinas will slowing move up the coast over the weekend. This would spread clouds into New England Sunday night and bring a chance of rain on Monday. It may also bring some strong winds to the Cape and islands on Monday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear. The prevailing visibility was 10 miles.
