By 4 am, skies had cleared across most of southern New England. Temperatures during the early morning hours dropped into the 30s most sections, except were still in the lower 40s across southeast coastal locations. A few of the normally colder spots, such as Keene, had dropped into the upper 20s. Winds gusted from the north to between 25 and 30 mph for two or three hours along the south coast. Mostly sunny skies are expected today with high temperatures reaching to around 60° in most locations, except only in the low to mid 50s across the south coast. It will become breezy for a time in the late afternoon. Although most locations received an inch or more of rain in the past several days, relative humidities will drop to between 20 and 30 percent during this afternoon while the wind strengthens late in the day. This will cause an elevated fire risk. A weak cold front will cause some increase in clouds tonight. Although a sprinkle or light shower is a slight possibility, conditions will likely remain dry. Mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the low to mid 60s are expected on Thursday. Near the coast sea breezes will cap temperatures in the 50s. && === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:54 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear. The prevailing visibility was 10 miles.
