Temperatures ranged from the mid 40s in the higher terrain to the lower 50s along the coast. Winds were light and generally westerly. High pressure over the central Appalachian mountains this morning will settle along the eastern seaboard later today and Thursday. High temperatures will generally be in the 60s today, and near 70° on Thursday, with overnight lows ranging from the mid 30s north to the mid 40s along the seacoast. A cold front will approach New England from the Saint Lawrence river valley Thursday night, bringing a chance of showers lingering into Friday morning. The cold front is expected to stall over southern New England while low pressure approaches from the Ohio river valley. Rainfall chances will increase on Saturday, especially in coastal locations. Daytime temperatures will cool into the 60s by Saturday, with lows generally in the 40s. The remainder of the holiday weekend should see increasing sunshine and warmer daytime temperatures, with some locations reaching the 80° mark on Memorial Day.
