Rain, heavy at times is expected throughout the morning, as the low tracks north to montauk point, and then across New England. As the low lifts north of the region this afternoon, breaks of sunshine will develop with temperatures climbing through the 60s. Although, this daytime heating combined with low pressure aloft approaching from the west, will likely trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area late this afternoon and evening. The area of low pressure will then lift into Quebec tonight and Saturday, yielding fair and seasonable weather for southern New England. By Sunday, another area of low pressure will exit the Great Lakes and approach New England.
