Temperatures were mostly in the 40s to lower 50s with light winds. Unsettled weather is forecast to continue as a trough of low pressure settles in over the eastern Great Lakes the next few days. Southern areas could be treated to partly cloudy skies around midday Wednesday, along with slightly milder temperatures. A few showers are expected to develop during the afternoon hours as highs head to the 60s south and upper 50s north and mountains. Mostly cloudy conditions are in the forecast tonight, helping to keep temperatures on the mild side. Overnight lows will range from the lower 50s south, to the mid 40s well north and in the mountains. A chance of showers will break out Thursday, as disturbances head into New England from the Great Lakes. This will probably be the main theme for the rest of our week. A pattern shift will produce fewer showers by the weekend. Drier weather is finally forecast by Sunday night, continuing into Monday and Tuesday. Our daytime temperatures won't show much change, rising mostly to near seasonal mid 60s south, to the upper 50s north on Saturday and Sunday. Little change is expected for the start of our next workweek. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EDT was: === The skies were cloudy. The prevailing visibility was 10 miles.
