Temperatures at 5 am were mostly in the 50s. High pressure over eastern Canada and low pressure centered over the southern Great Lakes will combine to to keep an east flow across the region through at least Sunday which will continue to transport Atlantic moisture into the region. As a result, periods of rain will continue across eastern New England through Sunday with just a chance of showers over far western sections. The rain will be heavy at times and there is also a chance of thunderstorms across eastern New England. Highs today and Sunday will range from near 50 across northeast Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire to around 60 in the Connecticut valley. Lows tonight will be 45 to 50.
