At dawn it was generally cloudy with hints of brightening skies in the Connecticut river valley. Temperatures were in the 50s. The day will be generally cloudy with temperatures this afternoon rising to within a few degrees of 60. A bit of rain will occur, especially in northern Massachusetts and south central New Hampshire. Tonight should remain mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the 50s. Tomorrow will be warmer and with a great start to the day. Highs will be in the 70s with a bit of sunshine. However, showers should be starting in the afternoon. That rain could be heavy for a time late in the day or at night in eastern Massachusetts with thunder possible in southeast New England. Eventually the weekend dries out with gusty west winds, probably not til late Saturday and Sunday. Low pressure east of New England will move north and weaken today.
