As of 5 am, temperatures were pretty much holding steady in 50s across the area. A deep upper level low pressure system has been the reason for the wet and cloudy conditions over the past few days. The upper level low pressure system has remained nearly stationary over northern New England and will be slow to move out. This low pressure system will generate mostly cloudy conditions today across northern New England. The system will begin to move out to sea on Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon temperatures should moderate back to near normal. A coastal low is expected to develop south of Cape Cod on Wednesday and then move north Wednesday night and Thursday. While the current track of this storm remains offshore, a slight shift westward would bring more rain to the coastal areas. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EDT was: === The skies were cloudy.
