Across the rest of the region skies had become cloudy. Early morning temperatures were in the 40s and it was quite breezy along the coast with northeast winds at 20 to 30 mph. Rain will overspread the rest of southern New England today from west to east, and it will fall heavy at times. High temperatures will mainly be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Rain will continue across the region tonight and Wednesday with areas of patchy fog. Low temperatures will generally be in the lower to middle 40s tonight with highs mainly in the lower to mid 50s on Wednesday. Drier and much warmer air will return to the region on Thursday as highs soar well up into the 70s, except sea breezes will keep the immediate coast in the lower to mid 60s.
