Some produced locally heavy downpours which flooded roads for a short time. Rainfall amounts ranged from a tenth of an inch most places to as much as two inches in a few spots. As the new day started, the air remained humid with temperatures and dewpoints in the 60s. A cold front drifting south through the region will stall along a Boston to Hartford line this morning and midday, then move to the south coast by tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will redevelop over New England, favoring the area along and south of the drifting front. Because of the high humidity, both in the air that is here and in other air being fed into New England, any showers and storms that do form will continue to have the potential of producing heavy downpours. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s and the 70s. The showery weather will continue into tonight. Then, after a short break, low pressure moving up the front will bring a more substantial area of rain to southern New England. This rain will be with us Saturday and Saturday night before tapering off on Sunday. By the time the rain ends, our region will have received between 1 and 6" of rainfall from the entire event. Drier weather will then move in early next week. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:54 AM EDT was: === The weather reported was fog. The skies were cloudy.
