The combination of dry air, a lack of recent rainfall, dry kindling and possible gusty winds will combine to increase the fire danger this afternoon. Early morning temperatures ranged from mid 20s to mid 40s from north to south as clouds started rolling in from the east overnight. These clouds will thicken as the day wears on and signal the beginning of an unsettled weather week. Low pressure off the southeastern coast of the country will gradually move northward, and bring rain to the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. This rain is just what is needed to reduce the fire danger conditions. This storm will weaken as it approaches Nova Scotia on Thursday but another low in eastern Canada will keep the threat of daily showers going on Thursday and Friday. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear.
