Some below zero readings were even reported in the usual cold spots such as Keene and Orange. Closer to the coast, readings held in the teens and lower 20s, but were in the mid 20s on Cape Cod and Nantucket where clouds were lingering. High pressure will build across northern New England today, and will be centered over the Maritimes tonight. Aside from some high clouds along the south coast, sunshine will prevail over the region today. Highs will reach the 20s and lower 30s. Clouds will increase tonight, as low pressure over the southeast emerges over the Carolina coast. Light snow well ahead of this low may reach as far north as Providence and plymouth late tonight, otherwise it will remain dry. Snow or rain is likely on the Cape and islands where temperatures will be a little warmer. The low will pass east of Cape Cod Friday, bringing a mix of rain and snow as far inland as the Interstate 95 corridor. The mixed precipitation is expected to change to rain before ending late in the day. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly cloudy. A low pressure system tracking from the Great Lakes to New England Saturday will bring a variety of precipitation to the region. This time the rain snow line is expected to be near Interstate 95, with mostly snow farther north and west, and rain over southeast New England. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:25 AM EST was: === The skies were mostly cloudy.
