Morning lows were in the teens across interior Connecticut, northern and western Massachusetts, and southwest New Hampshire, but in the single digits in sheltered valleys. Across the southeast and along east and south coastal locations, morning lows ranged in the 20s. A light west to southwest wind blew. The region will have a temporary relief from the arctic chill today. A southwesterly breeze, ahead of an approaching cold front, will cause temperatures to rise into the 30s this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the normal range for this time of year. As the front arrives on our doorsteps later this afternoon, snow will develop from west to east. The snow will taper off Sunday night. Light accumulations of 1 to 3" can be expected by daybreak Monday. Behind the cold front, a stiff northwest wind will develop Monday and mark the arrival of strong high pressure and another round of arctic chill. The high will build over the nations east Monday and Tuesday. Although snow will come to an end across the region by early Monday morning, ocean effect snows can be anticipated to develop over the mid to lower Cape during the day Monday and continue into Monday night. The high will move offshore late Tuesday and be followed by a return southwesterly wind flow. This will allow temperatures to again moderate to near normal levels for mid week, with readings in the 30s. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
