Temperatures early this morning range from around 5 below zero well inland, to the upper teens and lower 20s along the coast. A second and stronger disturbance will cross southern New England this morning, moving off the coast by early afternoon. This disturbance marks the leading edge of and even colder airmass which will grip our region later today, through at least Friday. As this disturbance comes through this morning, scattered snow showers or a snow squall is possible, producing brief heavy snow which will be blow around by a gusty west to northwest wind. Snow showers showers and squall should move off to the east by afternoon with clearing skies. However, the strong northwest winds will continue, gusting up to 50 mph for a time late this morning and early this afternoon.
